Our Family History

Kirk Auto Group began with J.S. "Dynamite" Kirk, who was the son of a sharecropper from Duck Hill, Mississippi. Dynamite left farming to start selling cars. On July 15, 1973, he formed Kirk Auto Group with two partners. As time progressed, Dynamite bought his partners out and became the sole owner of the business.

Dynamite Kirk raised his two sons up in the auto business. They did everything from pulling weeds and washing automobiles to working in the parts department. The older son, Cannon, took over the day-to-day business of the dealership after graduating from Delta State University. The younger brother, Scott, graduated from Delta State and also joined the family business that grew into multiple dealership locations.

In 2012, the children purchased the dealership from their dad, and in 2021, Cannon bought his brother's interest to gain full ownership.

The Kirks attribute their success to hard work, good employees, treating their customers right and being blessed by the Lord. Kirk offers over twenty brands of vehicles and owns stores all over the state and one in Tennessee. Anyone can sell you a vehicle, but no one can take care of you after the purchase like KIRK CAN.
